So with 13 serious charges against Charlie Rangel, the people of the United States may wonder why he hasn't reached a deal so he won't have to face a public trial. Why hasn't Rangel at least resigned, as called for by 3 of his colleagues? Here's why:

A House investigator says the panel handling Rep. Charlie Rangel's ethics case has recommended a reprimand by the full House - but that decision could be months away.

Rep. Gene Green, who's on the subcommittee that investigated the New York Democrat, says that's the recommended penalty for the 20-term New York Democrat. Rangel is facing 13 charges of wrongdoing.

Now really! Would you resign if you only faced a "reprimand" (expresses a formal disapproval of the conduct)? Would your 3 year old stop taking cookies from the cookie jar knowing the worst thing that could happen is that you might scold him?

Here is an adult supposedly serving his country by representing his state in Congress. He belongs in jail for at least 15 years (that's what would happen to the normal US Citizen if convicted of these charges) and Nancy's "swamp cleaning" Congress might actually scold a criminal!

The Amnesty Memo will be the talk of the day.

An internal memo from DHS suggests there may be ways to grant amnesty to illegals without a vote of Congress or American Citizens. Yep, hope and change along with a huge dose of transparency is plotting how to pull a fast one since amnesty is very unpopular with the American people.

USCIS finally answered inquiries about the memo, not denying its existence but only saying that

To be clear, DHS will not grant deferred action or humanitarian parole to the nations entire illegal immigrant population.

That doesn't rule out granting amnesty to the vast majority of illegals.
